Memorial Day is important. Yes, it is a time to get together with family and friends. But it’s important to remember the real reason Americans get together on Memorial Day – to support our veterans.”

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, May 25, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Today author and CEO of The JRS Realty Group, John Salkowski, announced his support for the Wounded Warriors Project. It’s an organization that provides year-round support for wounded warriors and their families. Salkowski believes Memorial Day is the perfect time to bring attention to this worthy cause and he has made a personal donation in support of them.
As a retired veteran police officer of 15 years, he’s familiar with how important the service of our veterans is to our country. Returning to civilian life can be a struggle for any veteran, but it’s more challenging for the men and women that return home with physical and psychological wounds. They deal with their injuries every day of the year – often for the rest of their lives.

The Wounded Warrior Project is involved with every aspect of helping veterans return to civilian life. They run a combat stress recovery program, partner with other community members working closely with veterans, provide support for family and they assist with caregivers. Organizations like this are an important resource for service members.

America has between 18 and 20 million veterans and many of them face difficulties when they return home. At least 20% suffer from post-traumatic stress syndrome, but that number may be much higher. Considering everything thing these veterans have given for America, Salkowski believes donating to the Wounded Warriors Project this Memorial Day is something every American should consider.

Memorial Day is an important day on the American calendar. It’s a time to get together with family, spend special moments with friends and celebrate. Without taking away from any of that, Salkowski believes it’s important to remember the real reason Americans get together on Memorial Day – to support our veterans whatever their background.

To find out more about the Wounded Warrior Project and to donate visit www.woundedwarriorproject.org. Donations can be made online, but there are also other ways to support the cause including by phone and by mail. All contributions go to the support of wounded veterans and their families.
