João Lourenço, José Eduardo dos Santos want progress for Angola

ANGOLA, January 2 - In its editorial on Monday, titled "Testimony", daily newspaper Jornal de Angola says that 2018 brings a set of challenges that each puts itself in the already traditional balance of the year ended and the one that now begins.

It adds that, more than individual wishes, there is a sum that makes them a challenge for the country, at the exact moment that turning the page of the calendar points to the first 100 days of the current government, democratically elected in August 2017, marking the beginning of a new political cycle in Angola.

In the editorial, Jornal de Angola stresses that the change was the fact in the year and that it revived the hope of the people, who today look to the future with more optimism, even knowing that what lies ahead (in 2018) will not be easy.

It recalls the words of the Vice-President of the Republic, noting that "in a courier competition, those who receive the testimony cannot stop", so the analogies of sport with politics are not of today and, therefore, it is worth remembering that races are, as a rule, speed. The daily stresses that it is necessary to accelerate the reforms, because the mandate is only five years, which pass in an instant.

For Jornal de Angola, couriers are not like marathons, as some think and defend, where achievements are left in the drawers of forgetfulness, without accountability for the failures and the colossal slippages that originate many of today's moneyed.
