Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said that Qatar should pay for the presence of US military forces in Syria, Al Arabiya reports.
Jubeir’s statement came on the basis of statements made by US President Donald Trump and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macaron.
Jubeir said in a statement that Qatar must “send its military forces (to Syria), before the US president cancels US protection of Qatar, which consists of the presence of a US military base on its territory”.
Jubeir added in statement on Tuesday that if US withdraws protection of its military base from Qatar, the regime “would fall there in less than a week”.
