All-Big South Conference baseball teams announced

Worthington seniors Chase Byrne and Dawson Svalland were among those selected. Numerous other area players made all-conference as well

With the high school baseball season now over, players from the Big South Conference were recognized for their excellence throughout the season with all-conference honors.

The Big South teams were split into big and small schools. Making up the big schools were Marshall, St. Peter, New Ulm, Belle Plaine, Tri-City United, Waseca and Worthington.

Leading the way on the black all-conference team from big schools is Marshall with five selections, followed by New Ulm with four, St. Peter with three, Belle Plaine and Tri-City United with two each and then Waseca and Worthington with one each.

The small schools consist of Fairmont, Luverne, St. James, Pipestone, Windom, Redwood Valley, Jackson County Central and Blue Earth Area. Marshall won the conference title over Fairmont.

The gold all-conference team featured Luverne with four selections, Fairmont, Pipestone and St. James with three, Windom with two and BEA, JCC and Redwood Valley with one each.
