Rangers are reportedly preparing a bid for Estoril's Kevin Boma.

The centre-back, who joined the Portuguese team last year for a modest £210,000, has impressed in his 28 appearances.

The 22-year-old Togo international has caught the eye of several clubs, including Union Berlin and FC Basel.

The Swiss champions are expected to make an offer soon, but Rangers are also keen on the young defender, according to Foot Mercato.

Estoril reportedly value Boma between £5.1m and £5.95m.

Boma, who has six international caps for Togo, has been a standout performer in the Portuguese league, earning a place in the team of the week several times.

Rangers star 'on European club's transfer shortlist' amid summer exit talk

His performances this season have made him a prime target for clubs looking to strengthen their defences.

Rangers, who needed centre-back reinforcements in January, signed Rafael Fernandes on loan from Lille.

However, Fernandes has only made three Premiership appearances and hasn't fully convinced.

This has left Rangers in need of defensive reinforcements once again.

With major changes expected to the squad ahead of the new season, Boma could be a key addition to the club.

Before his stint in Portugal, Boma's experience was limited to the French lower leagues, with two campaigns in the second tier with Rodez.

He became a Togolese international in March last year and has now played six times.

His potential move to Rangers could mark a significant step up in his young career.
