‘Operation Roadrunner’ leads to 42 arrests, seizure of 200+ lbs of drugs in North Carolina
25 guns also seized in year-long investigation
NORTH CAROLINA (WBTV) - Forty-two people were arrested in North Carolina last month after a year-long multi-agency narcotics investigation dubbed “Operation Roadrunner.”
The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office announced the apprehensions on Thursday, May 8, after the operation reportedly concluded in April.

Deputies said that during the operation, they seized $876,812 in cash, 41 pounds of cocaine, 159 pounds of weed, 2.2 pounds of meth, 24.4 dosage units of MDMA, and 25 guns.
“This has gone on for years in Alamance County,” said Sheriff Terry S. Johnson. “We had to utilize every possible means to do this.”
42 arrests made
Of the 42 suspects apprehended, the sheriff said 25 are Alamance County residents, six from Guilford County, four from Rockingham County, four from Orange County, one from Durham County, one from Randolph County, and one from Johnson City, Tennessee.
As of this writing, deputies advised some suspects are awaiting trial while others have been convicted and are serving their sentences.
