Steve Xuereb wins class A in Round 5 of Gozo Motocross ChampionshipThe fifth round of the Yamaha Championship 2018 was held on Sunday, organised by the Gozo Motocross Association.

The weather cleared, making perfect track conditions for the afternoon’s programme of races, with the dirt riders putting on an exciting display of racing for the large crowds of fans to turned out to support their favourite riders.

The GMA said that the competition proved to be unpredictable with the places changing from moment to moment.

During the Class A competitions, the atmosphere was electrifying with the best riders vying with each other for places.Steve Xuereb wins class A in Round 5 of Gozo Motocross ChampionshipSteve Xuereb, Etienne Bigeni and David Dimech challenged each other constantly, while Joseph Bigeni and Robert Spiteri followed closely behind. Xuereb won this category on his Honda CRF 250cc followed by Bigeni and David Dimech came in 3rd. Nataniel Camilleri won Class B followed by Jorn Stellini.

In Class C, the GMA said that riders put on an adventurous and daring show as they matched each other relentlessly. Newcomer Glen Vella dominated, achieving maximum points for the day. He was followed by Matthew Buttigieg and Mark Camilleri came in third place.

GMA Vice-President Jesmond Bigeni, presented winners with the trophies at the end of an exciting day’s racing.Steve Xuereb wins class A in Round 5 of Gozo Motocross ChampionshipThe quarter finals of the Yamaha Gozo Motocross Championship 2018 will take place on Sunday, the 11th of March at Ta’ Xhajma Track, with races starting at 1:00pm.

The Association said that it encourages and welcomes new riders and spectators.
